Prime Retail Services prides itself on being a leader in exceeding industry standards and one such area where we have had great success is in forming a team of highly-qualified construction superintendents.

In performing construction in a retail environment, our superintendents face issues that the superintendents in other lines of construction rarely encounter. There is of course consideration of schedule, quality, productivity and safety, but add to that the need to tailor these skills to a retail setting that is ever changing, it is important to have individuals that can master all areas and continue to adapt as the environment changes. The Retail Contractors Association offers the opportunity for these accomplished individuals to showcase and develop such skills through participation and completion of its own Retail Superintendent Training Program.

RCA’s Certified Retail Superintendents bring specialized knowledge to their retail construction projects. Through completion of the course, these superintendents will develop skills and understanding in a range of topics regarding the retail industry, namely: Site-Safety; Scheduling; Quality assurance and control; Customer focused construction; Document control; Standards and best practices; Communicating for productivity; Subcontractor and change management; and finally, the close out process.

Unquestionably a course requiring such expertise is only available for those of the highest level of knowledge in the industry, and as such the following requirements are needed in order to enter the course to become an RCA Certified Retail Superintendent:

  • At least three years of experience in retail construction experience
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Employed by a current RCA member company
  • Attendance at RCA’s two-day workshop
  • Successful completion of the Certified Retail Superintendent exam (taken at the end of the workshop)

It is therefore an honor and certification only held by the most esteemed in the industry. That said, Prime is proud to announce that the following persons have attended the RCA training, taken the certification examination, and are now RCA Certified Superintendents:

John Adams

Larry Bradbury

James Haines

Mike Hall
